Earth USA 2026

Earth USA 2026 is Adobe in Action’s 13th International Conference on Architecture & Construction with Earthen Materials. The formal conference will take place from Friday, September 18 to Sunday, September 20, 2026 at the Scottish Rite Center’s Alhambra Theater in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Earth USA 2026 includes adobe, rammed earth, compressed earth block (CEB), and monolithic adobe (cob)—any material or method that uses clay as a binder.

Activities

• Three days of Podium Presentations and Poster Sessions on the current state of architecture and construction with earthen materials
• Friday Evening Reception sponsored by The Earthbuilders’ Guild
• Tours to local earthbuilding sites in and around Santa Fe, NM
• Online component – In 2024 the conference had ~35% international participation; an online component is planned for 2026 so authors from around the world can participate even if they cannot travel to New Mexico

Call for Abstracts

Abstracts are accepted via the online submission form from September 8, 2025 until February 8, 2026. Notification of acceptance by April 10, 2026. Full papers due June 7, 2026. Presenters have 25 minutes including Q&A.

Paper subject categories: Historic buildings and cities; new architecture and construction methods; education and codes; physical/thermal properties and seismic resistance; social and cultural elements; commercial presentations.
